Shloka’s 2.5 to 3 years

Month 30
Whenever I talk to Sunil in Hindi, Shloka thinks I am planning to put her in the bathroom (timeout). And she says amma nannu bathroom lo veyyoddu.
She narrates her imaginative stories. ..she says I took the lion in my arms fed it milk and made it sleep. Whatever we do with her, she imagines those with her toys. Once she was saying I joined the caterpillar in school. I made the caterpillar climb the bus and it climbed and went to school. I also sent the lunch bag for caterpillar… stories!

Shloka’s 2 to 2.5 years

OMG Shloka is talking a new word a day. I even lost track of making a note of what she is doing. Her intake and appetite are much better now. She is now able to eat gold fish snack, eats small pieces of fruit. She likes to try new food. She loves to eat the dried strawberry from kelloggs cereal. Now able to eat rice mashed as we eat. She refers to everyone as vadu and orey including Sunil. She learnt it from Sunil.  We celebrated her second birthday and housewarming on August 17 and it was a blast. It was a Dora theme in the basement. Once in a while she says lets go to basement. She says Sunila aunty, Shreya akka and Sunila aunty came to my birthday. Appudu nenu Dora vcake cut chesanu, andaru naaku “haapy birdday to you dear Shloka” ani padaru  appudu nenu andariki “thaankyou ” ani cheppanu.
Shloka wanted to eat her meal by herself and ate it half way through.  I said Shloka is a big girl now. Then she said no I am a good girl! !
Sunil said you are my cutie pie, then she said no I am Shloka Chebolu. I myself do not know the difference between purple and violet. So I use them interchangeably. I googled and found the difference and then I correct ed Shloka, but she was not ready to accept it..
Sep 2nd : This morning I said Shloka come lets play bubbles gun. She was playing with her toy laptop and said “naaku office pani undi, nuvve aaduko”. I am speechless.
Sep 4th : Shloka was talking to my mom on phone and was telling all about the trip to Canada. She said she met grandpa and grandma there, they gave her gifts and she gave them kisses,  they gave her a blue monkey. She said she went on a tonga ride and she went on a boat too. My mom is like OMG!

Month 26
Shloka learnt 2 shlokas – guru bramha and shuklam baradaram. Sunil asked her to repeat  about 4-5 times and he told the Shloka himself 3-4 times and she got it. Shloka is amazing.
Whenever we scream at her  she asks us – nanna/amma why did you say that to me? (Amma nuvu nannu enduku ala annav? )
Me and Sunil were arguing about something and after some time, Shloka was playing with her toys and was talking to herself and said ” nuvu ammani kodithe ninnu kodatha” and ahe walked to Sunil and slapped him. OMG we told her  ‘Shloka you are not supposed to do that’. We must make sure the kid is not getting hurt 😦 my bad.
Shloka said “amma nuvu naaku dharmaraju bheemudu chepthe neeku gift isthanu” then I told her pandavas names and asked her for a

Gift. She ran into her toy room and got me a cow toy and said “amma neeku cow gift thechanu ” how sweet!
I was on my way going to get my eyebrows done. I told Shloka she should not cry there, it pains when mommy gets her eyebrows done. She is such a  cutie pie. This morning on our way to drop Shloka at  her daycare. I told her you should not cry and I said you must wave mommy goodbye. Then she was sad  and said u don’t say not to cry. Then I told her I will pick her in the evening then she felt a lil better and said she will talk to me on phone after I leave and when I left her there she waved goodbye without crying. Btw this is the first time I alone dropped her at the daycare. Sunil usually drops and I pick her up.
She woke up at 3am and started asking about her doll -amma papa edi? The I got up with my eyes half open searching for the doll. Luckily

Sunil got it upstairs last night!
Month 26
I gave shloka an empty bag after the rice in it is over and asked her to throw in trash. She said “evaraina bag trash lo paresthara?”. I blasted laughing !
Whenever she hears some sound, she says “amma aa sound enti ? “

28 month
Amma papa lechi loda loda vaguthundi…then I was lol and she said nanna nannu ala antaru….
Shloka acts as if she is biting my cheeks and then she acts as if she is spitting out and then puts them back in place. She is soo funny!
She started narrating her own stories now…she said her doll meghana pushed her and asked her to go away. She said I got a bubu and was pointing to her forehead and said it became red. I was warning Sunil that we should be cautious in believing

And she was biting microscopic pieces, then I said Shloka how long will you eat that cake. Then she responded “amma adicake kadu muffin.” )
Shloka is potty trained now ! She was banging the lid of toilet seat against the flush tank and asked Sunil “nanna aa sound enti ani adugu ” he asked and she quickly responded “potty di door”….lol!
I told Shloka that we will be going to take a picture with Santa tomorrow. To my surprise she responded I will not look at Santa’s beard when you take a picture I will look at you mommy !!!
After returning back from there, I was eating rice in front of her and she said “nee peru surekha methuku na anduke methukulu thintunnava? ”  hehe funny girl !
To show  two fingers shloka uses the pointer and little finger. And that is sooo cute. Previously ahe used to sh

Show all 5 fingers and said I want 2.
To tell that she thought Sunil was downstairs,  Shloka said “nenu nannani nuvu kinda unnava ani anukunnanu”  🙂
Some funny pronunciations of Shloka:
Naa nokalo – for notlo, I thought I will end up with atleast 2 but I can’t think of anything else.
We came to visit my brother and family, Shloka was jumping and she said “I am jumping in Sudheer mama’s house.” She also said Srushti buggalu entha bagunnayo. She was on potty and was holding the fingers of her hand and said all these fingers are taking a picture. Then I asked who are those fingers then she mentioned pallavi atha, sudheer mama, Srushti and all three of us. I was amazed !
Jan 23: Shloka is sleeping in her toddler bed these days. But she is having bad dreams and waking up in the middle of night and climbing into our bed. Once I asked her what happened….why are you crying? She said sudheer mama naadi I am a little tea pot theesukunnadu. I laughed and slowly sled back into my own dreams.
Sunil keeps asking Shloka to repeat sentences after him to teach her. He said “Shloka say nanna nenu palu thagi padukuntanu”. Then she said ” nanna nenu palu thagi padukun ….no padukonu. Lol !

She now knows vakrathunda mahakay Shlokam too!

Shloka’s month 24

Shloka has mood swings now. She says she wants something and quickly says no I don’t want.
She asks us to do something and when we follow what she tells us to do, she says ah yes good job (she learnt from her caregiver). She repeatedly calls us and asks mom is this blue color, is this orange, is this a circle, etc.
Whenever we sleep on the bed, she starts jumping on the bed singing ringa roses and falling after jumping. Yesterday I wore a dress with small dots of glitter which were a little sharp. She said your dress is poking. (Amma nee dress ki mullulu unnai ) hahaha I started laughing out loud! She said the same thing when she saw Sunil’s beard growing!
I touched a hot cooker by mistake and Shloka saw that and asked me “Amma neeku kurupochinda? ” then I said kadamma naku vedi thagilindi. She kissed my hand and said thaggipothundi. It was one of my most happiest moments!
Shloka’s words are so sweet these days I feel like quitting my job and listen to her talk. While I was making a note of this she said the letter Q looks like an oval shape. Now she says amma neeku katha cheptha vinu…Anaganaga oka roju oka simham untadi apudu simham emi chesthadi ? Carpet meeda bajjukuntadi. Shloka is a little sick and is not eating properly. I heated some milk on stove and was waiting it to heat. Shloka suddenly said “Amma nenu palu thaguthanu, nenu asale mammam sariga thinaledu”. I was pleaseantly surprised by her sentence.
When we eat some upma, she likes to eat the onion pieces and green peas.
Sunil and I have started working on bringing up Shloka with discipline. We tell her loudly if she does something wrong, she only listens sometimes though. She was not ready to sleep and wants to play something on my phone and was crying. I said Shloka I’ll give you a timeout. Then she sweetly said sorry amma and suddenly became calm and ready to sleep. I was amazed!

Shloka’s month 23

She is talking sentences very cutely phrased!
She holds some particles she finds on the floor and holds on to them for a long time….she keeps rotating her ear rings and we lost one of her ear diamond studs. Her caretaker Sunila noticed and called me on my phone. She said she searched in her house and didn’t find it. Sunil after he  came home took the camera and scrolled through some pictures he took of Shloka in the morning. He then realised the stud was lost at home  and after searching every possible place he asked Shloka where her stud was. Shloka went to her play kitchen and took the stud out of the oven. Uff what a relief! And then I was a little worried that we were not able to find the screw of the stud.
Next day Sunil vaccumed the whole house and I checked the trash for the screw and Voila…..we found the screw too….her lucky charm!

Shloka holds her doll and says “idi na a thalli”
Last night I asked Shloka what is your name? She said “Shoka chabolu” then I corrected her… she instantly said “Shloka chabolu” for the first time…. .wow I am sooo happy to hear that ..she tells all the rhymes, planets, months of the year, days of the week….but I now realised she can even tell her name correctly.
Shloka loves to spend time with mom, but mom is always in the kitchen…..or tired after all the work.
Hmm I sometimes feel bad that I don’t spend enough with her….. 😦 ….during weekends she clings to me and wants me to do everything for her.
My granny is in the hospital and not well…Shloka while a daycare said thathamma and Sunila was asking me if she spoke to thathamma on phone. Shloka is amazing that she remembers people.

She is very active these days. She was a calm going kind of a girl who is very careful until last month. And now she jumps randomly, climbs on every climbable thing, runs very fast….. holds the hand of Akshay who is 2months older than Shloka at the day care and runs around their home all day.
One day I said we should continue feeding eggs to Shloka. Then she heard that and said “eggs thintanaa”. Then I said ” eggs levamma nanna ni konamani chepdam ” then she went to Sunil and said “nanna eggs konu”. We are amazed by the way she is making sentences! She was playing with a wafers box and said “amma idi ila pettanu, amma idi ila thosanu “. We saw a sudden change in her vocabulary. I ask Shloka to get a diaper and she gets it. These days when I ask her to get one, she says
Amma akkada fox undi. She was watching the 3 pigs and a wolf story and the wolf was chasing the pigs…..and this is when her fear started. One day she was not sleeping and jumping around then I said if you go down the bed there is a cat…..this w as her first fear.
Shloka blabbers sometimes. I understand most of the words but sometimes I feel she is talking some other language. Looks like her terrible two’s are around the corner. Mood changes, no’s, climbing and cryings. We moved into our new house and she is not eating as usual since we started our packing. It takes much longer to feed her half the quantity. Her vocabulary is exponentially increasing. She now tells any story you want. She says amma rabbit katha chepthanu, then she keeps repeating “amma rabbit kathe chepthanu” after I respond, she starts narrating. “Anaganaga oka rabbit untadi aa rabbit emi chesthadi ?” Today she said “ipudu amma katha chepthanu – anaganaga oka amma untadi apudu amma emi chesindi ? Tortoise tho adukundi”. A rabbit came to our backyard yesterday and Shloka said “nenu rabbit buggalu ila antanu” and she is scared to walk into the grass and later today she said “rabbit naa buggalu ila antadi ” and she rubbed her own cheeks with her hand.
It is so cute when she talks all these…but I am now scared of her terrible two’s!

Shloka’s month 22

I scolded Shloka and asked her to sleep in the crib. She knows that I am angry and called her dad to pick her up. Soft hearted Sunil got out of the bed to pick her up. She quickly lied down in the crib and said you go sleep. I don’t want to come. As soon as Sunil turned around she again stood up and started calling nanna nanna….. we acted as if we were sleeping and after a while I woke up and saw Shloka was sleeping in the crib!
It’s saturday morning and we were still sleeping, suddenly Shloka woke up screaming paapa….then Sunil springed out of the bed to get her doll with his eyes hardly open and then she wanted her doll’s feeding bottle…he could not find it and then I went to get it…Shloka did not stop crying and even I couldn’t find it. We all woke up!

Shloka seems to play while we have our shower but she is so observant once she listens to the shower stopping sound, she starts dancing “nanna snani appoindi” or “amma snani appoindi.”

Suddenly to my surprise Shloka started singing “happy birthday amma Surekha” me and Sunil looked at each other and lifted eyebrows.
One day Shloka sat in a corner near her toys and away from us with a doll in her hand started narrating a story to her doll – “anaganaga oka roju”.
Shloka suddenly wakes up in the morning and screams something….one a day she said uppalala (onion), happy birthday cake thintana, papa (her doll) and Sunil woke up with one of his eyes still closed to find it…she did not stop screaming until we found her doll!
She says “my” or ‘naadi’ when we take her toy…she meant to say mine.
June 9th : Once in a while she keeps saying “thish is …something”,  today  morning I decoded that holaaa she says “this is fun! “. She learns somethings at her daycare so we find it hard to understand!

I was showing things to her and asked what color is it. Then I asked what color are my pants then she said’ amma color'(Mom’s color).  So funny!

She found a paper towel that Sunil used to blow his nose and she started to act as if she is blowing her nose… I was a lil worried but it was funny!
